Configuring Your StealthFyre Stove

There’s a lot of different ways to enjoy the outdoors. And there’s a lot of ways to harness and use fire, too. Whether you’re into simple day hikes or preparing for the apocalypse, there’s a lot of advanced survival stoves available for your particular need. But none of them are going to be suitable for every situation you face. Small pocket stoves can’t supply the heat and space needed for large duties. And you aren’t going to lug around a giant barbecue just to boil a small pot of water.

You’ll need to have several types of fire harnessing tools if you partake in all of your outdoor options. And you may be the type of person that has already spent several hundreds of dollars on stoves. And now you have a shelf full of stoves that you rarely use. If you need all the storage space you can get, you’ve probably struggled with the decision to give up certain gear. After all, you have to make room for other stuff and consolidate your space. Through this heart-wrenching process, you’ve probably wished there was a better way.

There Is.

StealthFyre introduces a revolutionary new way to make use of your fire. With a unique style of tabs and slots, we’ve radically changed the way you think of your advanced survival stoves. Unlike any other of the advanced survival stoves on the market today, StealthFyre is a truly modular design. This means that StealthFyre survival stoves are literally building blocks for fire. Think about that for a minute.

Our modular system allows you to build any style of stove with one kit that can be expanded at will. You can build a simple fire ring or windbreak, a small rocket stove, or a barbecue. You can also build a Dakota Fire Hole, a meat smoker, a potbelly stove, and even a rocket mass heater. And each of these can be as big or as small as you need.

That’s a lot of options for one small device that takes up about as much space as a book. And with that many different choices, you may be wondering how to make the best use of it. For instance, how would I configure my StealthFyre stove for ultralight camping and backpacking? Or what if I wanted to use my StealthFyre stove for long-term cooking at base camp? What if I need to configure my stove to keep a low profile while I’m stealth camping? How do I use StealthFyre in a survival situation?

These are all great questions. Let’s answer them.

Backpacking Configurations

Backpacking is the perfect way to experience the great outdoors. But because you’re carrying everything you need on your back, weight becomes a big issue. There’s a lot of adventures to be had in the wilderness. Things like day hikes to hard to reach waterfalls, or extended camping in the backcountry with friends. You’ll want to consider the weight of everything you carry on your back for times like these. With StealthFyre, you can access a tiny rocket stove that works with several fuel types and weighs around a pound.

This stove can be constructed with several of our kits. If you are in a small group of backpackers headed to the wilderness, you can easily split the weight of any configuration. Then when you get to your destination, combine each collection to build a larger stove for group cooking. This cuts down on individual pack weight and makes life more enjoyable for everyone.

There are three ultralight options that StealthFyre can provide for cooking during day hikes, and each of these has a few variations that can also be made. The first, a single-tier rocket stove is our lightest configuration and works with any fuel you have on hand. It weighs about a pound and works great for boiling water and cooking single-serving meals.

The second is a two-tier stove that weighs about 2 pounds. The panels can be fairly divided between a hiker and their companion(s) and will construct a small stove that provides two cooking surfaces.

The third is a tiny Dakota Fire Hole, which is great for the solo hiker and can be used above ground or buried in a small trench. This stove configuration will also provide two cooking surfaces when constructed above ground without the connecting tunnel.

Long-term Base Camp Cooking

Perhaps you’ve set up your base camp for a hunting or fishing expedition. Or you’re spending several days in the woods scouting out new exploration opportunities. You’ll inevitably find yourself in need of several types of cooking surfaces. You’re not going to want to live on dehydrated foods alone, after all. Small pocket stoves simply aren’t suitable for cooking a wide variety of food, so you’re going to need something a bit larger and more versatile.

StealthFyre has several types of pit style stoves that work great for long-term cooking needs. These configurations are all based on the Dakota Fire Hole, and they work the best when buried in a trench. Depending on the size of the pit you construct, you will be able to prepare several types of food. When built properly, a Dakota Fire Hole can do just about anything you demand of it.

Many Ways To Cook

Build a tripod out of sticks to hang a stew pot and you have a quick easy method of making a delicious meal nearly anywhere. Toss a grill over the fire pit and you have a great way of grilling meats and vegetables. Or build a long-pit and fit a cast iron griddle over top to make pancakes, eggs and bacon for breakfast, or grill up some yummy ham and swiss sandwiches for lunch!

If you’ve brought enough StealthFyre panels with you, you can quickly and easily build a potbelly stove that attaches to the top of your Dakota Fire Hole. This will give you two cooking surfaces, one of which can be big enough to support large pans or more than one small pot. With enough panels, you can build a chimney to use this stove inside of a hot tent or primitive shelter.

When you’re ready to pack up and head home, this configuration can be easily lifted out of the ground and buried, leaving no trace that there was ever a fire in that location. This leave no trace aspect of our advanced survival stoves makes them uniquely suitable to situations in which you may not otherwise be able to have a fire at all.

Stealth Camping

There are many reasons to stealth camp, of which we don’t need to go into. If you are aware of what it is, you most likely understand its importance. To stealth campers, the single most reliable method of building a concealable fire is the Dakota Fire Hole. But because it relies on ideal soil conditions to build successfully, most stealth campers opt for carrying bulky liquid fuel canisters and their ultralight burners instead of saving weight and making use of their surroundings.

We made StealthFyre with this in mind if nothing else. Designed to be used in any soil condition and allow you to build a Dakota Fire Hole anywhere, this configuration is again the suggested method of using your StealthFyre for any type of stealth camping you find yourself doing. All of our stove kits will allow you to build this amazing fire pit in nearly any size you need.

The Dakota Fire Hole configuration will give you everything you need for stealth camping. It produces an intense heat focused at the cooking surface. The Dakota Fire Hole makes a fire that produces little light when kept below ground. It gives you a nearly smoke-free fire that doesn’t give off your location. It’s a design that can be quickly packed up and leave no visible evidence that you were there. And it gives you an efficient burn that means less time spent gathering firewood and less fuel used.

Using StealthFyre For Survival

It’s been said that “The more you know, the less you need”. It’s true, but you can still have a bad experience in a survival situation. What if you found out you need something you don’t have and can’t easily make? This is perhaps the best example of why multi-tools have become so popular. Having one compact unit that can perform several tasks is an incredible advantage to have.

Whether it’s a Swiss Army knife or a Leatherman, these items have long been a staple in any smart survivalist’s arsenal of gear. StealthFyre has now been added to that list with the incredible amount of versatility this design offers. As a fire harnessing device, StealthFyre is the only stove on the market that will offer you a plethora of different styles of advanced survival stoves.

But there’s more to it than just harnessing fire. Because of the nature of our panel design, you are also able to build several sizes and shapes of containers for moving and storing things. And you can use these shapes without a bottom to create molds for making bricks out of clay, adobe, and snow.

A Truly Advanced Survival Stove

This opens up a wide array of capabilities for the would-be survivalist facing off against the apocalypse or just left alone in the wilderness. By building containers out of your StealthFyre kits you will be able to store necessary items, make a washbasin, move dirt while building your survival shelter, and even make a drinking vessel using a small watertight bag.

By leaving the bottom out of these same containers, you will then have the perfect size mold to make bricks from several available materials, and in several shapes and sizes. These bricks can then be used for building a more permanent fire pit, for making a kiln or a brick oven, for establishing more permanent shelter, or even constructing a forge to unlock the next level in your survival experience.

Whether you’re a day hiker or the last among us after the apocalypse, StealthFyre has what you need to stay alive in your fight against the elements. That’s because it has dozens of different stove designs you can build, all without owning several dozen advanced survival stoves. And with the ability to use the panels for tasks other than harnessing fire, it’s hard to deny that StealthFyre is going to be the stove you want for whatever comes your way.
